About us

What happens when a grown-up drummer finds chemistry with a young talent and unleashes an energizing and hard-swinging mix of New Orleans-inspired boogie woogie, jazz, ragtime and blues? Yes, it sparks - it almost catches fire!
The great talent Eirik Tveten, piano, (27) comes from Tønsberg met drummer and teacher Ernst Wiggo Sandbakk (68) at NTNU Jazzlinja - and found "the tone and the rhythm" early on. Eirik is also a member of the trio We Take Requests, who has worked together with Ulf Wakenius and Bennie Bennack Jr.
The drummer Ernst Wiggo Sandbakk originally comes from Kjeldebotn and has influenced Trondheim's music scene for 48 years, collaborating with artists like Palle Mikkelborg, Art van Damme, Thorgeir Stubø, Frode Alnæs, DumDum Boys, Hans Rotmo, Henning Sommerro and Åge Aleksandersen. He was ass. professor at NTNU Jazzlinja and head of the Trondheim Jazzfestival (2004-2025).
SuperCharger Duo is based in Trondheim and plays danceable, swinging and audience-friendly music with clear inspiration from New Orleans.
The repertoire has been well received by all age groups. You can hear clear references to Professor Longhair, Oscar Petersen, Dr. John, Ray Charles and many more.
The duo is very flexible. The concert is just as suitable as a matinee, jazz café, late night or for dancing, but can also be targeted at older people, or invite a local guest soloist and/or hold a small course/seminar for young talents.
Local dance communities such as lindy hop, boogie woogie etc. love to dance to SuperCharger Duo. The duo has played in concert halls, at blues and jazz festivals, for kindergartens, toured secondary schools and for older people.
Everybody like SuperCharger Duo!!

Nice memory from Trøndelag Teater 8. November 2025.
